PLAYBOY ITALY: TALKING WITH OMER BHATTI

No comments:
The September issue of PLAYBOY Italy features an exclusive interview with Omer Bhatti held by his friend and photographer Massimo Masini in Norway. Omer talks about his personal and professional life, subjects ranging from when his passion for dance started up and his friendship with the biggest pop star of all time, Michael Jackson. Check out the translation of some parts of the interview:

CHILDHOOD

"I was hyperactive. I practiced many sports, all of the most common... basketball, martial arts, swimming, running... My heroes were Carl Lewiss and Michael Johnson. I was very good at all sports because I was small compared to others and was so full of determination that sign me to be respected. I was very competitive... / After practicing all these sports, it was something natural and instinct. I remember that my mother woke me in the morning, prepared the coffee, and then went out to go to work and I had exactly 15 minutes which I watched VHS to 'study' video clips, choreography, concerts. Using compulsively the Pause and Play to repeat every step and detail. I was very focused. The crazy thing of a 'real studio'. So it ended up with me starting dancing seriously and becoming known in Norway, a sort of prodigy (laughs). But for me the dance was a kind of meditation and large therapy."

CURRENTLY

"I feel good, always referring to the animal world, I feel a bit like a chameleon, which can capture the 'color' of the places where I live. I adapt, knowing how to keep, of course, my personality. It is a gift that I have been able to develop and acquire with time and experience. We must be strong and sensitive... I'm a vulnerable wolf, but vulnerability makes us strong. I alternate between a socially 'normal life' and, so saying, 'high class'."

PROFESSIONAL LIFE

"If I look back, I see often an Omer that I am no more, songs which I do not recognize me anymore... but would do it again because I consider everything as the step of a grand staircase that led me to be who I am today and how I am today is all I wanted. / I need to express myself freely and believe, without being subject to certain "market rules" (about being an independent artist). / I just released my new single 'Automatic' whose video was shoot in Los Angeles and is the first project produced by Prince Jackson with his new production company, King's Son Productions. See, even here are present my 'two lives', where Prince to me is how a younger brother, I have taught him many things, I changed his diapers, gave him baby food and today he was my producer. It's the cycle of life..."

FRIENDSHIP WITH MICHAEL JACKSON

"It's like that day (June 25) I had died with him and then was reborn. It is very rare for me to talk about it and the fact that I talk about it with you (Massimo Masini) is not by chance. You and I we met in a very important moment and delicate of my life. But my 'two lives', as I said, are on I have lived a part of my life in a Norwegian modest suburb and another around the world with the highest of the music stars. / I can understand people's curiosity, but people should understand the limits of curiosity. the media and people always focus on wanting necessarily classify my relationship with Michael. The truth is that I do not give a name for our relationship. I believe there is no more words to classify and label something or someone. Michael for me was "Michael", that's all. / I'm not a fan of this 'title' (king of pop) for the simple fact that he was much more than the king of pop."

PLAYBOY ITÁLIA: CONVERSANDO COM OMER BHATTI

No comments:

ATUALMENTE

"Eu me sinto bem, sempre me referindo ao mundo animal, eu me sinto um pouco como um camaleão, que pode capturar as 'cores' dos lugares onde eu moro. Eu me adapto, sabendo como manter, é claro, a minha personalidade.

REVIEW: AUTOMATIC BY OMER BHATTI

No comments:
Unlike the other songs that Omer Bhatti has released since 2011, "Automatic" is the work that most represents himself. Whether or not a radio hit, it's truly himself. "It's the song that is most me. It's not a typical radio/single type song, but it's ME", he said.

In fact, Automatic was not planned to be his next single. O-Bee was working on another song, but had this beat for almost a year. Then later he worked on it with Jae Rashidi - the one who sings the song's bridge. His first plan was to release the song for free download, but with big ideas coming for a video production, he changed his mind.

MUSIC VIDEO
With such a representative song, the video couldn't be different. This is his first video 'like' a short film, and to make it something bigger, O-Bee had the help of three special people: Christopher Perez (director), Mario Poljac (director of photography) and Michael 'Prince' Jackson (producer), who created in less than a week the magical result we can see now. The concept of the music video is very clear, but at the same time mysterious: Two sisters are kidnapped by bad guys, then O-Bee's squad, fully efficient, come to save them. The story doesn't stop there, because we may still have the continuation of the story. What a mystery...

The video was shoot in April this year and was very hectic. The team chose the locations based on the mood they wanted in the video, but most certainly was they wanted the 'desert thing', and it is from there that came O-Bee's favorite scenes. A curiosity: Initially, O-Bee would dance on top of a silver bullet bus, but the camera crew got nervous for him.
